Avocado Seed Oil for Skin: Benefits & How It Works | izé

Avocado oil isn't new to skincare. Avocado seed oil is less common — most brands use the fruit, and the seed gets thrown out. We use the seed, and there's a real reason for that.

What's actually in it

Avocado seed oil is rich in oleic acid, a fatty acid that closely resembles the lipids your skin already produces. It's also packed with vitamins A, D, and E, which is a big part of why it pulls double duty: hydration and antioxidant protection in the same ingredient.

What it does for your skin

The fatty acid content is what makes it a heavy lifter for dry or stressed skin. Oleic acid helps fortify the skin's barrier — the outer layer that keeps moisture in and irritants out — which means less water loss over the course of the day. The vitamin E adds antioxidant support on top of that, helping calm irritation and support the skin's natural repair process.

This is also why it's the first ingredient we reach for when skin is drier or under more stress: it's heavier than something like strawberry seed oil, but it still absorbs, it just does more of the deep, structural work.

Who it's best for

Dry, dehydrated, or barrier-compromised skin gets the most out of avocado seed oil. If your skin feels tight after cleansing or reacts easily to weather changes, this is the ingredient doing the most work for you in a blend like ours.

Why the seed instead of the fruit

Most avocado oil in skincare comes from the fruit's flesh, and the seed is discarded as waste. Cold-pressing the seed instead means using a part of the plant that would otherwise be thrown away — a small thing, but it's the kind of small thing that adds up when you're trying to build a formula with nothing wasted, including the sourcing.

Quick reference

Key compounds: Oleic acid, vitamins A, D, and E. Best for: Dry, dehydrated, or barrier-compromised skin. What it does: Fortifies the skin barrier, reduces moisture loss, supports antioxidant protection. Texture: Heavier and more nourishing than lighter seed oils, but still non-greasy in a blended formula.

Avocado seed oil is one of three botanical oils in The Everywhere Oil, alongside strawberry seed and apple seed oil — built to cover hydration, texture, and barrier support in one bottle.
